Kimi Antonelli's greatest achievement was winning at Monza, after starting from the penultimate row. But the second was just as important, as with his success at the Italian Grand Prix, he managed to make Ferrari fans burst into joy, on a black Sunday for the team from Maranello.

 

Andrea Kimi Antonelli did something that was hard to imagine, especially considering how many fans of the “Redhead” have their eyes and hearts only for the “Eternal Horse”. After shedding bitter tears over Leclerc’s exit from the race and realizing that Hamilton would not win or even climb the podium, Ferrari fans began to cheer for Kimi.

Instead of leaving the stands, as happens when your favorite team is one step away from defeat, they supported the driver from Bologna in his duel with Russell. They began to wave the Italian flag at every pass, they encouraged him to the finish line with their cheers and, with a tremendous explosion at the end, they greeted his victory.

They stood up to applaud him during the lap of honour and then ran down the podium to sing the Italian national anthem with him. And after the official celebration ceremony, came the embrace of the Monza crowd. Antonelli was allowed to rise triumphantly on the hands of the fans, held in the air. As if he were not dressed in the silver colours of Mercedes. Because Ferrari always comes first.

But it's impossible not to love this curly-haired boy, who is writing the history of Italian sport, even though he drives a Mercedes, at least for the moment...
