During her stay in Munich, within the framework of the Security Conference, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, met with the Minister of State for Europe, Gunther Krichbaum, with a focus on strengthening the Albania-Germany strategic partnership in the context of the European integration process.

The meeting also underlined the importance of continuing the enlargement process as an irreplaceable investment, both for the candidate countries and for the EU itself.

"In this context, we talked about a very concrete agenda for the continuation of Albania's membership process, at an even faster pace," Spiropali declared.

Germany's support, according to her, has been and will remain crucial in advancing structural reforms, strengthening democratic institutions and deepening economic cooperation, as well as in implementing the objective of concluding technical negotiations within 2027.

"The partnership with Germany strengthens this perspective and makes the common objective more tangible: Albania a member of the Union, and the European family even stronger and safer," emphasized the Foreign Minister.

Munich – 🇦🇱🇩🇪 During the Security Conference, it was a pleasure to meet Gunther Krichbaum, Minister of State for Europe, at the "House of Germany", with whom we spoke about strengthening the Albania-Germany strategic partnership in the context of the European integration process.

During the meeting, we discussed the fundamental importance of continuing the enlargement process as an irreplaceable investment, both for the candidate countries and for the EU itself. In this context, we spoke about a very concrete agenda for continuing Albania's accession process, at an even faster pace. Germany's support has been and will remain crucial in advancing structural reforms, strengthening democratic institutions and deepening economic cooperation, as well as in realizing our objective of concluding technical negotiations by 2027.

EU membership is our major national project, but also a strategic investment for the stability and prosperity of the region. Albania remains fully committed to this process, which it has proven with deeds through bold reforms and the transformation of the country.
While we believe in a merit-based process, which is achieved through work and results, we at the same time expect from the EU that the accession process of Albania and the entire region be credible, predictable and timely, for the common good of the future of the entire continent.

The partnership with Germany strengthens this perspective and makes the common objective more tangible: Albania as a member of the Union, and the European family even stronger and more secure.
