The Deputy Dean of the Faculty of History and Philology, Agron Gjekmarkaj, has commented on the protest of the lecturers, who are demanding the repeal of the Law on Higher Education. In a statement for News 24, he stated that if the demands of the lecturers are not resolved, the case will be referred to the Administrative Court.

"We are to support and are behind a unanimous decision taken by the assembly to express our repeated indignation and the call for reasons addressed to the government to repeal the higher education law, not because we want it for nothing but to do a service to the public university in Albania, we have spent endless white paper, but this was rejected by the government. If that law is not repealed, the university will not have peace.

We call on the government not to waste time with rhetoric, but to speak about the students' demands. The demands have been addressed to the government, we are simply in solidarity with the students in this matter. It worries us that the students are outside the auditoriums, we are here to learn and gain knowledge while they are outside, it does not work. UT will address the Administrative Court to overturn the VKMs because autonomy is violated, as we will not allow the university to be taken under the patronage of Rama's ministers as he did in the next Turbina show," he said, reports Balkanweb.

We recall that the lecturers of the Faculty of History and Philology have gone on a one-day strike, demanding the fulfillment of several demands, including the repeal of the Higher Education Law.
