Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro, accompanied by the Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, visited the "28 Nëntori" high school, one of the elite educational institutions in the country.

During the visit, Kumbaro inspected the works at the school gym, a space that has now been returned to the students and the community. Minister Kumbaro stressed the importance of freeing up public spaces and returning them to the community.
"We have tried to free up public spaces that we ourselves have occupied, and I am very happy that the Municipality of Shkodra is doing this in more schools and universities, because these are spaces that are being returned to the public," said Kumbaro.

For his part, the mayor, Benet Beci, praised the support of the Ministry of Education for investments in schools and sports fields. He emphasized that the opening of these spaces is only the first step, while investing in and putting them into operation is essential.
"It is a collaboration between the school, the municipality and the Ministry of Education that has made this investment possible. This is a school with history and values, and we have worked to preserve every detail of it," said Beci.

Minister Kumbaro underlined the importance of reorganizing schools beyond school hours, where thanks to the increase in teacher pay and the new government decision, opportunities are created for the inclusion of teachers from the waiting list and other professionals.
"Since we have many artists in Shkodra, with the new government decision you have the opportunity to engage them in schools. We can also attract teachers on the verge of retirement or from the waiting list of the 'Teachers for Albania' portal, to develop additional classes, including environmental and agricultural ones. It is very important to organize beyond the school hours, as we now also have the legal and financial opportunities," said Kumbaro.

In the meeting with teachers and students, the minister praised the “28 Nëntori” gymnasium as one of the most excellent schools in the country, emphasizing the important role of the dedication of the teachers and the continuous work of the students in achieving high results. The “28 Nëntori” gymnasium has 700 students and teachers and marks a series of achievements in olympiads, national and international championships and festivals.
