Businessman Luan Muça has publicly reacted to his clash with businessman Vasil Bedinaj, giving his version of the event and demanding a full investigation from the State Police.
Muça says that he has remained silent until now due to the position he has held, but that he now sees it necessary for the public to hear his version directly.
According to him, since 2019 he has invested in the Palasa area, where he has purchased about 97 thousand square meters of land from local owners. He says that on July 15, 2021, he received the status of strategic investor, based on a project designed by the international studio EEA – Emre Arolat Architecture.
Muça states that in 2022 he applied for a permit for the first phase of construction of a five-star hotel with an international brand, while in 2024 the permit was issued and work began. According to him, during 2024, an application was also made for the second phase of the project.
He claims that later, through social media, he found out that a building permit had been issued on the land he claims to have purchased and on which strategic investor status had been granted.
Full Feedback:
I have remained silent until now, because in the position I was in, I was unable to speak, and I think the public has the right to hear the truth directly from me.
Since 2019, I have decided to undertake an investment in the Palasa area. During this time, I have purchased 97.000 m² of land in Palasa from many local owners. During this period, I have been forced to buy most of the land twice.
On 15.07.2021, I applied for and received strategic investor status, based on a project designed by the international studio EEA (Emre Arolat Architecture).
In 2022, on part of this area (26.000 m²), I applied for permission for the first phase of construction of an internationally branded, 5-star hotel.
In 2024, I obtained the permit and began construction work on this internationally branded hotel.
Also in 2024, I applied for the second phase of this project.
By chance, from social media, I saw that a permit had been issued on the land I had purchased and on which investor status had been granted, according to the EEA Studio master plan. In fact, it was being advertised for the sale of various units, apartments or villas.
After that, I contacted the AZT to get more information about this issue. After the communication I had, they informed me that all the parties' documents would be verified and that, until the verification of the documents was completed, there would be no disclosure of the construction permit.
After about an hour, I received a call from citizen Vasil Bedinaj, who asked me not to expose my claims on my property to the AZHT. During this call, it was decided that we would meet in Orikum, at Mr. Bedinaj's hotel, to discuss this situation. (I met Mr. Bedinaj about a year ago, after he had appeared at the construction site where I am building in Palasa, requesting a meeting with me regarding some claims he had about the property boundary. When I went there, Mr. Bedinaj was not alone, but was accompanied by a large number of armed men.)
So, accompanied by my family members, I went, at his invitation, to his business premises.
After we met in Orikum and sat at the table, as soon as I started to explain my claims, Mr. Bedinaj escalated the situation with his own claims, cursing and insulting me.
Although it is not clear from the cameras that Mr. Bedinaj has provided to the public, at this moment he called armed people, who were positioned in various places on his premises.
At this point, the situation had deteriorated and I realized that Mr. Bedinaj had not called me to clarify, but to produce his next scandal. For this reason, I got up and left.
As we left Mr. Bedinaj's premises, the people he called shot at us. In light of the above, I request the State Police to investigate this incident and fully identify the group of shooters.
I am very surprised that, during this situation, Mr. Bedinaj had the calmness and care to spread fake news, according to which I had imposed fines, in all the media outlets over which he had influence, as well as to distribute the footage from the angles he wanted.
I have learned these days that this is not the first time that Mr. Bedinaj has manipulated public opinion about his clashes. He has attempted to do this in my case as well.
Surprisingly and paradoxically, the only ones who believed this were the State Police officers, who detained me for 72 hours on charges of extortion against Mr. Bedinaj.
I can't speak for myself, as I've never done it before, because I've believed that people are spoken for by their deeds and actions.
I believe that public opinion is familiar with the work, brands, and companies we have created at home and abroad.
Modestly, I can say that I am the creator and developer of a conglomerate of companies operating on 4 continents, including the United States, India, as well as countries like Italy, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt and, of course, the Balkans, with an annual turnover of multimillions.
In this context, the fantasy of a fine for a person wearing shorts, who gets beaten up every year by some tourist, policeman or beachgoer, is a malicious fantasy of a group of people who think that, by stealing other people's property, you can make money, be a good man and be called a businessman.
Finally, I am willing to make available to the public and the media every document I have written about in this response.
