A front row seat to be seen by the whole world, as two carabinieri raised the Italian flag on the flagpole! This seems to be the end of the sad story of the 11-year-old boy, who was abandoned in the middle of the snowfall by a bus driver on January 27, while returning home on Line 30 from Cortina to Calalzo (Belluno). The 11-year-old had to walk 6 kilometers before arriving home, cold and wet.

On Friday evening, during the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, the boy played a leading role in the flag-raising ceremony that simultaneously united Milan's San Siro stadium.

The eleven-year-old saw the Italian flag raised on the pole alongside Fulvio Valbusa, Christian Zorzi, Giorgio Di Centa and Pietro Piller Cottrer, members of the 4×10 relay team, gold medal winners at the 2006 Turin Olympics. He greeted, smiling, the entire audience, the images of which reached every corner of the planet.

"He was very happy," his mother said a few days ago when the family received the invitation to attend the evening.

According to Italian media, the 11-year-old's parents have made peace with the bus driver Salvatore Russotto, who immediately apologized to his parents, and first and foremost to the boy.

History:

On the afternoon of January 27, the eleven-year-old was in possession of a 2.50 euro travel ticket, not the 10 euro premium ticket required for transportation. He was forced to get off the bus and walk back in a snowstorm and freezing temperatures. Following the incident, the Province of Belluno decided to abolish the 10 euro ticket for residents.
