New details are emerging about the 33-year-old nephew of Kostas Tomaras, who is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of the 68-year-old owner of the Finikounda campsite. According to SKAI reports, the young man had often expressed his desire to leave the country, telling his family: "Don't worry about me, because I will sell everything and go to Thailand."
investigator They suspect that this escape plan was linked to his recent actions, as he had already auctioned off 10 properties belonging to his uncle, which he inherited as the sole legal beneficiary before his arrest. This move is seen as an attempt to liquidate the assets before leaving Greece.
Meanwhile, police continued to close in on the 33-year-old and his friend, who is also accused of inciting the double murder. Both were arrested at noon on Wednesday, while the investigation into the crime remains open.
With the nephew's arrest, the inheritance issue has taken a new turn. The 68-year-old's estate, estimated at several million euros and including numerous real estate properties and land, will pass to the victim's sister, who is now considered the legal heir. Even if the nephew is found guilty as an instigator, he is excluded from any benefits.
The case of the double murder in Finikounda is not yet closed. Authorities are awaiting the arrest of a third person, currently in Germany for tourist reasons. This individual is suspected of transporting the 22-year-old from Finikounda to Kalamata, a person who initially claimed to be only an accomplice and that he had “swimmed” to the city to escape pursuit. However, current investigations identify him as the main perpetrator of the execution of the owner and caretaker of the campsite.
Greek police have requested the intervention of German authorities to arrest the third suspect, while developments are expected to continue in the coming days with other important developments for the full unraveling of the crime that has shocked public opinion.
