New evidence from staff at a stem cell clinic in Kolonaki sheds light on the final hours of Greek singer George Mazonakis, who reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack on Wednesday, September 9.

According to Ioanna Gaka's testimony, the singer had called her the day before, shortly after 17:00 PM, to consult about his health condition, as, according to her, he was facing difficulties in fulfilling his professional obligations. After the call, they scheduled an appointment at the clinic. Gaka claims that Mazonakis arrived at the clinic around 19:00 PM on Tuesday and underwent several checkups. She stated that during the examination she noticed signs of high stress.

According to her, the singer told her: “You can’t imagine,” when she asked him about his condition. He also, according to her testimony, told her that he was using diuretic medication, as he felt he was retaining fluids. Gaka further described his condition: unusual cough, hyperexcitability and difficulty standing for long periods. She claims that Mazonakis asked her what could be done immediately to improve his condition.

According to the testimony, she was offered a treatment with the “INUS PHERESIS” device, which Gaka described as a procedure for “purifying the blood.” She stated that the treatment involved taking blood through a vein, passing it through the device, and returning it to the body through another vein.

The next day, according to staff testimony, Mazonakis returned to the clinic to continue treatment. However, versions of his arrival time differ. Gaka claims that the singer was late and arrived around 16:00 PM, while other staff testimony and camera footage reportedly give a different time. One of the nurses stated that Mazonakis seemed “somewhat in his own world,” while noting that his condition seemed worse compared to previous visits.

"His gaze was not focused and focused as I perceived it," another nurse testified. The clinic secretary also described the singer's unusual condition. According to her, he seemed disoriented and had a large bandage on his forehead.

Shortly after Mazonakis entered the room where the “INUS PHERESIS” machine was located, the situation deteriorated. According to the secretary's testimony, Gaka's husband, Elias Theodoropoulos, was entering and leaving the room where the singer was located and then she was asked to call emergency services.

Testimony from staff has raised questions about the singer's condition in the final hours before the fatal incident. However, the exact circumstances of his death and whether the treatment he received at the clinic had any connection to the deterioration of his condition must be determined by the investigation and forensic experts.

Meanwhile, Ioanna Gaka and her husband Elias Theodoropoulos are facing criminal proceedings in connection with the incident, while staff testimonies and other materials are part of the investigation.
