Increased traffic was recorded this weekend at the border crossing points in the southeast of the country, mainly due to Albanian emigrants returning home for the summer holidays. Border authorities are working with increased capacities and reinforced counters to cope with the high number of travelers and avoid long waits.

At the Kapshtica border crossing, 8,630 entries and 3,769 exits were registered, while at Qafë Thanë, 6,174 citizens entered and another 5,070 exited.

In total, 14,804 entries and 8,839 exits were recorded through these two border points alone, or 23,643 movements in both directions.

The highest inflow is related to the peak of the summer season and the arrival of immigrants living and working abroad, while border authorities continue to work with increased capacities to manage movements and reduce waiting times for citizens.
