The flow of vehicles on the eve of the weekend has brought increased traffic on the Tirana-Elbasan highway, where thousands of citizens have headed towards Elbasan and other areas of the southeast of the country.
The increase in the number of vehicles has caused heavy traffic, mainly at the entrance to the city of Elbasan and in several segments of this road axis, where slowdowns are often created during weekends.
To manage the situation, the Elbasan Traffic Police has increased its presence on the ground, engaging officers at the most problematic traffic points. Monitoring is being carried out in the Shinjon–Bradashesh, Rrethi i Luleve and Cërrikut intersection segments, areas where high traffic flow creates difficulties in vehicle movement.
According to data from the field, traffic continues to be slowed down, but without complete blockages. Vehicle columns are moving gradually and so far no incidents have been reported that have worsened the situation.
Traffic Police patrols will continue monitoring the road throughout the evening, with the aim of managing traffic, preventing dangerous overtaking and ensuring road safety.
Authorities appeal to drivers to respect traffic rules, signage and instructions from police officers, as the flow towards Elbasan and other areas of the southeast is expected to continue in the coming hours.
