The bodies of four Italian divers missing in the Maldives have been found in the third segment of the cave near Vaavu Atoll. The news was confirmed on X.

With the arrival of three Finnish specialists in Malè, search and recovery activities for the four Italian divers missing in the caves of the Vaavu atoll in the Maldives have resumed with vigor.

The team of divers from Dan Europe, consisting of Sami Paakkarinen, Jenni Westerlund and Patrik Grönqvist, began diving in the waters of Alimathà, after meeting with the Maldives Coast Guard to determine the work strategy.

The operations are complicated and "very complex due to the conformity of the countries", as explained by the lawyer Antonello Riccio, who, together with his colleague Gianluigi Dell'Acqua, is helping the family of Federico Gualtieri from Omegna. Gualtieri disappeared along with Monica Montefalcone, a researcher from Genoa, his daughter Giorgia Sommacal and Muriel Oddenino.
