The peak of the tourist season has brought a high flow of movement on both sides of the Albania-Kosovo border this afternoon.

An increased movement of vehicles and citizens entering Albania has been recorded at the Morina border crossing. Despite the influx, checks at the counters are continuing at full capacity and there are currently no reports of long lines of vehicles or extended waits.

Increased flow has also been recorded at the Vermica border crossing, towards Kosovo. The movement is mainly related to the return of Kosovar citizens after holidays on the Albanian coast, as well as members of the diaspora who are traveling to their homeland.

Also in circulation are citizens who have chosen to spend the weekend or a few days of vacation in Albania and are now returning to Kosovo.

The high flow of vehicles has brought congestion to the National Road, especially in the Kalimash Tunnel–Kukës–Morinë segment, where traffic continues to be heavy.
