With two medals, gold and silver, Albania gave a fantastic performance at the Balkan Cycling Championships that took place in Kosovo from June 5-7. 10 Balkan countries participated in this activity, which is one of the most important cycling events in the region. Albania was represented with dignity in the Elite, U19 and U17 categories.
The red and black team put on a spectacular performance in the most important competition, the Elite, where thanks to an excellent team strategy, Valentino Kamberaj was declared Balkan champion, winning the gold medal and bringing the red and black flag to the podium. A special contribution to the victory of the Balkan title was made by athletes Gabriele De Fabritis, Bekim Tafili, Leo Piku, Olsian Veliaj and Alesio Kola, who with their team sacrifice supported the team's strategy towards the gold medal. Leonardo Musta also secured a silver medal in the U-19 (Junior) category, finishing in second place after a very strong competition.
The Albanian Cycling Federation congratulates all athletes, coaches and representative staff for the results achieved and for the dignified manner in which they represented Albania.
