A 7-month-old baby died yesterday after suffering a severe respiratory infection, despite doctors' efforts to keep him alive.

According to local website flashnews.gr, the baby was in Chania with his family on vacation when he fell ill, with his Dutch parents taking him to Chania Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a respiratory infection (bronchitis).

From there, it was deemed necessary to transfer him to Venizelio Hospital, as the baby had congenital health problems and his medical history was serious.

The 7-month-old baby was rushed to Heraklion, where doctors made superhuman efforts to keep him alive, but unfortunately they were unable to save him.
