Prime Minister Edi Rama, along with family members of the 4 protesters killed on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard on January 21, 2011, have made the annual walk, placing flowers at the place where they lost their lives.
They placed carnations at the places where Ziveri, Faiku, Hekurani and Aleksi were killed 15 years ago.
In July 2024, the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) officially resumed investigations for January 21, after the Strasbourg Court ordered the Special Structure to investigate the complaint made by Rajmonda Nika, the wife of Aleks Nika, against Sali Berisha, former Prime Minister, Lulzim Basha, former Minister of Interior, and Ndrea Prendit, former head of the Republican Guard.
The Strasbourg court has described the killing of the four protesters as a "state crime that had to be solved."
