Actor Daniel Stern, best known for his role as Marv in the comedy duo "Wet Bandits" in the legendary film "Home Alone," has announced that he will not be attending any events marking the 35th anniversary of the film's premiere. Stern, now 68, revealed that the reason is not related to the film or nostalgia, but to the new lifestyle he has chosen, a quieter life, away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. "I'm not leaving my farm," the actor said with humor, implying that he has now become a "real homeboy."

He stressed that the decision is not at all an insult to the 1990 cult film, but simply his personal preference to stick to his daily routine as an artist and farmer. “A phone call… a Zoom… I’m here,” he added with a laugh, hinting that he is only open to virtual communication.

Stern's character, Marv, is one of the most beloved figures in family comedy, a hapless thief who, along with his partner Harry (Joe Pesci), attempts to rob the house of Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin. Their failed attempts have given generations of iconic and memorable scenes.

After years in Hollywood, Stern retired from public life and moved to a ranch in California, where he has dedicated himself to art and working the land, a pace that he says brings him true peace and joy.

Although he won't be part of the celebrations for this important anniversary, the actor admitted that he is aware of the film's immense impact and the fact that "Home Alone" remains a timeless holiday tradition around the world. He expressed gratitude that the film lives on, but prefers to enjoy its success from a distance.
