After the end of the 2025-26 season, the red and blues have faced several important departures in the back, which has meant that the leaders have a considerable amount of work ahead of them to rebuild the defensive department.

One of the names currently considered out of the squad is Elmando Gjini. The center-back ended his loan spell from the Balkans and so far no new agreement has been reached between the clubs to continue the cooperation. Under these conditions, the tall player is not part of Vllaznia's current plans, leaving a significant gap in the center of defense. Melos Bajrami also seems to be on the way out. The defender's contract with the red and blues has ended and everything is leading to a separation between the parties.

The footballer has long been seen as one of the players who can try an experience outside Albania and the interest from foreign markets makes his departure from Shkodra increasingly possible. The situation on the left wing of the defense is even more problematic. Kuros, Jago and Hakaj have finally closed their adventure with Vllaznia, leaving that sector completely uncovered. If until a few months ago the competition in that position was considerable, today the technical staff must think of new solutions, as there are currently no natural alternatives in that wing. In fact, looking at the current composition of the organic team, the number of confirmed defenders is very limited.

Based on the previous season, only Gurishta, Pusi and Çeliković are still under official contract with the club. A situation that makes it clear that the summer transfer market for Vllaznia will start precisely from the defense. With the start of summer preparations not far away, the red and blue leaders do not have much time at their disposal. Before the team enters the intensive training phase, the approach of several defenders seems a necessity.
