In 2014, the Assembly approved the National Security Strategy, the fundamental document with legal status that defines the general lines, but not only, of security policies in every field. For the public, this document may seem simply a piece of paper with theoretical and administrative value, and even more so for the media, a common practice of institutions. This is a fact since the strategy passed in silence and without any debate. We have become accustomed as a society to treat important issues with frivolity, while easy issues with a dizzying commitment. But the political elites who have a mind for producing power intrigues do not simply underestimate the issue of security. On the contrary, they see it as an opportunity to wash their hands with strategic partners and on the other hand do nothing to implement it, or worse yet sabotage it.

This fundamental document for the affairs of the state is unfortunately seen by our government not as a "road map" to exercise its primary duty, guaranteeing our sovereignty, but as an opportunity to do the opposite. And this is not an opposition speculation, but a deduction of successive errors and faults that prove precisely this accusation. But let's take one by one the elements of this document.

Let's start with defense. Despite the consistent calls for two decades at every NATO summit to increase the budget of member countries by 2% of Gross Domestic Product, we are once again in the conditions of a lie on the part of our government. After all, it seems that the 2014 budget achieved this objective, but in reality, as has happened before, there are voices within the budget that have artificially increased it. At the same time, if we look at the level of investment and capacity growth, especially those of the 'combat force', we are either in conditions of being equipped with tools and techniques that are forgiven and at the same time used by strategic partners, or we have remained at the same numerical levels of human resources capable of war as 12 years ago. We are good in propaganda, in fact we are in a numerical position. Even the projects of purchasing new systems are floating in uncertainty regarding the partners of the local military industry (if there is one), or worse yet mistakes are made with maneuvers of actors that are at least abusive and without history in this field. And specifically, Kayo's only success is the occupation of the premises of News24 with the rubber batons of the Military Police. As for the rest with Shota and Galica, the ambiguity is alarming.

But let's continue with the even more delicate issues that are rightly mentioned in the National Security Strategy of the Republic of Albania. Identification and response to "malicious interference" by foreign state and non-state actors in the economy, finance, cyber systems, and media through disinformation. These elements of hybrid warfare have known relative levels of success, but in the other direction. That of unfriendly countries. The case of Bankers, Vlora Airport and some financial institutions or even worse banking institutions that are camouflaged through fictitious owners is enough to reasonably suspect that the infiltration has been successful and the Albanian government and the Bank of Albania have not only not prevented them, but have opened the door for them. As for the media where people who produce anti-Western propaganda operate, the phenomenon no longer extends to secondary levels but has penetrated the main debate panels and well-followed portals. Of course, those who "throw goat meat" in the media do not come out with T-shirts printed with the words "long live Mother Russia", "long live Albanian-Chinese friendship", or "down with the Islamic-Iranian revolution".

But they are intelligent enough to constantly attack the "degeneration of Western democracy and the free market" or by attacking SPAK as the great evil that is happening to Albanians. And in the end, by producing empathy with Hamas, they even managed to go as far as anti-Semitism. All of this is accompanied by dozens of portals whose owners no one knows and thousands of anonymous comments that reinforce like cans of once upon a time, the signals of autocratic birth. And what are the responsible institutions doing to prevent these rampant waves of malicious interventions? Not only is nothing obvious, but often their leaders are themselves signatories of contracts and guarantors and beneficiaries at the propaganda level.

But this document also has several other extremely important elements related to increasing law enforcement and strengthening democratic institutions. The Strategy clearly highlights the Justice Reform as a very valuable asset in guaranteeing democracy and strengthening law enforcement both against corruption and organized crime. And what is the executive doing in this regard? Since February, when Erion Veliaj was arrested, the prime minister himself has launched a lynching campaign against judges and prosecutors, from those of ordinary jurisdiction to SPAK, GJKKO and the Constitutional Court. Supposedly taking the role of the right side, Rama anathematizes the judiciary whenever he can for interfering in government affairs. As if justice should sit in the Parliament box and applaud the exploits of half of the government that wanders from the buildings of the Special Prosecutor's Office to the Constitutional Court!

The strategy also cites several other areas such as the fight against organized crime, cybercrime, and food and energy security. In short, it can be said that the issue of the fight against organized crime has gone downhill since the prime minister said "let them eat each other's heads" for the murders in broad daylight, delegating the responsibility of the government itself to the Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini, and even worse, every two weeks at least one police officer who works 'part time' as an informant and bodyguard for criminals is arrested by SPAK.

It should be noted that the laundering of money from international drug trafficking has transformed the construction sector from a housing and services sector into a giant laundromat for dirty money, where property prices have soared like never before. Meanwhile, the influence of crime on elections and appointments to the highest levels of public office has been consolidating. Regarding the fight against cybercrime, despite the encouragement of Secretary of State Marco Rubio in his November 28th greeting, the wounds of the Iranian hacker attack on public information services and systems have not yet healed. Just as the theft of data from the TIMS system is suspected to have been carried out by officials appointed due to "outstanding CVs" for criminal records in the field of cybercrime. Of course, with the signature of the Minister of Interior at the time. Not to mention the attempt by a senior official to breach the security of the e-mail of a SPAK prosecutor. Fix the icing on the cake in the fight against cybercrime.

And to conclude, the issue of food and energy security, which remain the focus of national security, has practically been reduced to a point of concern. Not only are we a country where God protects people from what they eat, but the propaganda against domestic production and the blow that is made to it through non-subsidization in favor of importers, makes us doubt which countries our government is working for. But more interesting is the situation of energy security, where after 12 years of governance, neither Skavica is starting to be built nor is the stock of requests for photovoltaic parks in government offices decreasing, keeping dependence on energy imports at levels that would make Serbia happy.

In short, this is the panorama of national security and the implementation of the National Security Strategy that either remains unimplemented or worse yet is sabotaged by the corruption or malice of the government itself. One thing can be said for sure. This is ours is the only government that violates the national security that it is tasked with guaranteeing. God be with Albania. Something more partners!
