Freedom Party MP Erisa Xhixho, invited to the studio News24, spoke about the opposition's preparations for the upcoming local elections, also revealing the format of this political force's competition within the coalition with the Democratic Party.
According to her, the Freedom Party will be part of the coalition with the Democratic Party for the mayoral race, while for the municipal councils it will present separate lists.
"We are part of a coalition with the DP. For municipal councilors, each party will have its own lists. This is also related to the system itself, where mayors are elected by a majority system, while municipal councils are contested by lists," said Xhixho.
The MP emphasized that, despite the division of lists for municipal councils, cooperation between opposition forces remains necessary to withstand the majority.
"Every opposition factor must be united, as we are not simply facing a prime minister, but a criminal organization," she declared.
She added that the Freedom Party aims to be represented with strong lists in municipal councils, to ensure a strong voice at the local level.
In conclusion, Xhixho emphasized that there are also positive examples of opposition cooperation, expressing confidence that this model can yield results in the upcoming elections.
