"Protest is a fundamental means of political communication," said Luciano Boçi in an interview on "Studio 24", in News24.
During the interview, Boçi said that the DP has shown that it has been determined and has protested against injustices. He also said that the "Foltorja" was chosen to be held in front of the Prime Minister's Office because, according to him, it is the right place to present such causes. However, Boçi stressed that the time has come for the DP to go to the citizens and not continue to call people to Tirana.
As for the DP statute and the importance of the statute, Boçi said that there has been an "attack" and that there has been a great focus on this issue, but, according to him, this is not Albania's main problem.
"The square has its symbolism. It is the right place to present them as a cause. We are done calling people to come to Tirana, let's go to the people. So we have to find the right form. For me, numbers don't matter. We have action and political action. We did all those protests, blocked the roads, asked for a technical government. This is an expression that is related to the truth. I have to defend the truth. Plans are always political. Political tools are elections. It is important to sensitize people. Having them also be part of the action... So all these factors exert their pressure with the aim that in Albania where it is evident that there are no elections, there are drug cartels, representatives in parliament are determined, of course we will react. Is there another way? Of course, but we have shown our convictions. Protest is a political tool, it is not the way of the road. As for the statute, I want to say that for over four years the media has been dealing with the DP statute as if everything bad in Albanian reality originates there. Today it is not "The public is informed...They only deal with the DP, the DP statute," he said.
