Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with pensioners in Berat, as part of the Albania Jobs tour.
He stated that corruption cannot be completely denied in Albania, but according to him, its level is significantly lower compared to the past.
Rama responded to the opposition's accusations of blocking negotiations with the European Union, saying that the integration process is not blocked.
"There can be no more corruption in tenders and no more winners, no more double the number of those who benefit from tenders compared to before. How can there be more corruption and higher salaries? How can there be more corruption and more tax revenues? How can there be so much corruption and only one construction site in Tirana pays 14 million euros in taxes to the state. How can investments and salaries increase? How can there be more corruption and 1000 or so services are received by phone. I am not saying that there is no corruption, but much less than what there was. This is not discussed when we will release more in the coming days, but also the latest EU report that speaks with facts, Albania is first in public procurement, in the way the system works, first in the region. We are on the right track of a country that in this EU public procurement report, is higher than many EU countries themselves from the point of view of the integrity of public procurement. It is a fact, how can we do it now? To "We say they don't exist. I'll take enough to understand what waters we're swimming in. You heard the EU ambassador, he said there is no blockade of Albania. He doesn't go out there to lie, he doesn't serve the Albanian government. If there was an undeclared blockade, it wouldn't have come out at all. The fact that he said it, he said a simple truth, he didn't say anything," he said.
