Jetmir Pepa's criminal group consisted of brothers, Jetmir Pepa, Aleks Pepa, Lulzim Pepa and Urim Pepa, who trafficked 7.5 tons of cocaine in 11 months in the first year of the pandemic.
The show "On Target" on News24, published new data from the investigative file of the Pepa family criminal group, led by Jetmir Pepa and his brothers.
His name had been almost unknown to the public until he rose to fame when, after an altercation on New Year's Eve, entering 2025, he fired a pistol into the air in the middle of a large crowd of young people who were celebrating the new year in Tirana's Olympic Park.
An event that turned Jetmir Pepa into an outlaw, as although he was wanted, he was never arrested by the police.
Just like today, when despite SPAK issuing 11 arrest warrants for his criminal group, he was still able to escape arrest.
A name that had initially been rumored as the boyfriend of Marinela Berisha, one of the Berisha sisters, who was involved in a violent clash with blogger Klea Prenga, causing the latter deep wounds to her face, as a result of the use of cutting tools, in one of the bars in the former Bllok.
But who is the Albanian 'Casanova', behind whom was hidden an empire of huge assets and monetary values, invested in the names of various people, who served as fronts for his businesses.
What are the drug episodes already documented by SPAK, after the dismantling of the Sky Ecc application, thanks to French partners, and how was Jetmir Pepa able to invest such wealth in Albania, bypassing any legal filtering mechanism?
According to the investigative file provided by the show 'Në Shënjestër', the first documented episode of drug trafficking by the group led by Jetmir Pepa is dated March 21, 2020.
Work that began in January of this year.
The quantity of 8.5 kg of cocaine was actually seized in the city of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands, right after disembarking from the ship.
Date on which Leonard Pjetri, one of the members of Jetmir Pepa's criminal group, who in his close circle was also known as 'Rrumi', was arrested.
Conversations during which Leonard Pjetri reminds Anton Pjetri to speak with Jetmir Pepa, and obtain approval from the latter for trafficking a quantity of 100 kg of cocaine.
Sky Etc
Jetmir Pepa: The work should be ready tomorrow.
Anton: OK
Leonard Pjetri: He went there, counted the jonas once again, and there were 100 of them.
Because they counted them wrong. So I'll count them again.
Likewise, I wrote to 'Rrumi' and asked him when the driver would leave.
But even though the criminal group took great care not to leave any traces and thus save its members from the police in the places where they trafficked narcotics, the facts showed that from time to time members of this organization fell into the trap of law enforcement agencies.
Just like the bad luck of Leonard Pjetri, for whom thoughts are already beginning to churn about how to get him out of the cell.
Meanwhile, what results from the investigations and the conversations on Sky Ecc between the members of the group is that they had a pact among themselves.
An agreement which agreed that members of the criminal group would be paid among themselves for each shipment.
But this only applied if the cargo was not seized by the police.
Conversely, if the cargo fell into the hands of the police, they were not paid.
While during the talks for Leonard Pjetri's release, they are also careful not to leave fingerprints on the drug shipments, but use gloves.
Another episode of drug trafficking by the criminal group led by Jetmir Pepa is when they try to smuggle a quantity of cocaine out of a port in the Netherlands.
Here, Aleks Pepa, Jetmir Pepa's brother, who also holds the generalship, Shkëlqim Pepa, plays a leading role.
Aleks Pepa, while talking to his brother Jetmir, laments the latter's plight, as he is barely collecting his debts.
This is apparently from other people who have their share in the shipment, where the main amount of drugs is owned by Jetmir Pepa and his group.
It is understood that Aleks Pepa runs the drug money collection operation from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Where apparently the group led by his brother has its base and collaborates with other Albanians or foreigners, who also have a share, or have paid for their quantity of drugs, which will be in the same load as that of the group led by Pepa.
Which is also implied by the dirhams that Aleks Pepa is currently collecting in Dubai.
Dirhanes equivalent to Albanian money are somewhere around 330 million lekë.
Conversations on Sky Ecc
Second cocaine episode.
Jetmir Pepa talks to his brother Aleksin and sends him photos of the ship. He tells him that the cargo is ready. And that measures have been taken to remove the drugs from the port.
But during the conversation, Aleks Pepa, alias Shkëlqim Pepa, expresses concern that he is not able to collect the money in the meantime.
Aleks Pepa: I have 30 million euros from work and I still can't collect it.
I also got 15 million dirhams, I have them here in Dubai.
Another episode, the second documented after the seizure of the first 8.5 kg shipment in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, at the end of March 2020, is the trafficking of a quantity of 1,018 kg of cocaine-type narcotics from Peru to the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
Episode dated April 7 and 8, 2020, just a few weeks after the first attempt failed. The shipment arrived at the port of Rotterdam on a Colombian ship, with the narcotics hidden in a refrigerated container containing frozen fruit juice.
The market sale value was over 1.3 million euros.
Based on the discoveries made by SPAK and foreign partners, Aleks Pepa turns out to be the right-hand man of his brother, Jetmir Pepa.
As well as the main man who coordinates drug trafficking on behalf of the group.
He is also a liaison point with foreign citizens, with whom he establishes contacts and conducts discussions on drug issues.
One of these conversations is with a person known by the nickname 'Supergang'.
Where both talk about a load of 120 kg of cocaine.
Conversations on Sky Ecc
Aleks Pepa talks to Supergang about a quantity of cocaine of 120 kg.
Aleksi: I know them all, brother. So we work hard together. The first one falls, I have the second one.
I have three groups. In seven years I have never been without work.
My first job, brother, was in Valencia in 2010, then in Rotterdam, a test with 120 kg of cocaine, they have no control.
The ship arrives tomorrow morning. It looks like so far this morning, I'll be working and by lunchtime when our ship is unloaded.
In another conversation that apparently relates to the same cargo, Aleks Pepa, while speaking to a person so far unidentified by the police, provides interesting details regarding how the amount of cocaine that is about to be shipped is being camouflaged.
This is where other members of the group appear in the conversation, who also keep their nicknames.
As is Albert Pjetri who goes by the nickname 'Zeus'.
Or Florian Marku known as 'Barcelona its back'.
Meanwhile, from what is understood in the conversation that Aleks Pepa has with the unidentified person, the quantity of drugs has arrived at its final destination and is ready to be unloaded.
A conversation during which the interlocutor's impatience is understandable, while Aleks Pepa tries to calm him down, telling him that everything is going according to the previously agreed upon plan.
And that their portion of the drug may be somewhat delayed in unloading, as it is in the last boxes of the load.
Sky Etc
Aleks Pepa speaks to an unidentified person:
Aleks Pepa: There are 1800 boxes to be unloaded. Everything is ready, we are just waiting for them to be unloaded. Our box is very low. It will take a while for them to be unloaded, I am waiting. When they come down, we know for sure.
But as they calm each other down and Aleks Pepa is tasked with maintaining tense nerves and giving patience to his group members, as well as the other partners who have their share of cocaine in the cargo that is just landing at the port, it seems that suspicions are starting to creep in that something is not going right.
Here, after a check by the customs authorities, suspicion arises that the cargo may have been spied on. And along with the cargo, they themselves may have been spied on.
Sky Etc
Aleks Pepa suspects a check that is currently being carried out on the ship.
Aleks Pepa: This inspection of the area only comes when the box is spied on.
They took the box, it's type Off.
I said don't catch the guys, they're armed. They're Dutch, bro, they put in the GPS and they crack it, they open the boxes.
The suspicion that the goods may have been spied on has now faded and is no longer the case.
But a truth that is beginning to hurt the leaders of the drug trafficking and smuggling operation in the port of Rotterdam.
Who watch before their eyes as the cargo is discovered by Dutch law enforcement agencies.
And just like that, they watch millions of euros lost with one hand pass before their eyes.
A concern that Aleks Pepa also expresses to his interlocutor identified as 'Supergang'.
The latter, in turn, indicates that the Dutch customs authorities not only had information about the goods, but also where they were hidden on the ship.
Which raises suspicions among him and Aleks Pepa that they were spied on by people with whom they collaborated.
Conversations on Sky Ecc
Aleksi expresses concern about the person identified as Supergang:
Aleks Pepa: The commodity may have been banned
Supergang: They also knew the exact position of the cargo on the ship and customs was notified.
Aleks Pepa: I'm waiting for additional news, I'll pay the costs if it's caught. It's about 1 ton of cocaine.
During the conversation between them, unable to hide his sorrow for this huge loss of drugs, but also money, not including the expenses and sweat to bring the cocaine to the port of Rotterdam, Aleks Pepa, while talking to the person identified as 'Supergang', also mentions a person whom they call Qerosi.
Where the one who would receive the drugs was Perry, Qeros' nephew.
But these are certainly not the only episodes of drug trafficking from South America to Europe by the criminal group led by Jetmir Pepa and his brother Aleks Pepa, also known as Shkëlqim Pepa.
Where the suspicions are actually that the leader of the group is Aleks Pepa and behind him came his brother, Jetmir.
A family actually linked to organized crime and especially to international drug trafficking.
Made up of four brothers. Among them is Urim Pepa, who is said to have died in a road accident.
But based on communications on Sky Ecc, it appears that he was in conflict with his brothers over drug money.
Conversations during which they exchange photos of quantities of drugs, money, ship movements, as well as notes on each quantity or shipment of cocaine launched.
As we said so far, the Special Prosecution Office and international partners have managed to document 8 episodes of drug trafficking by this criminal group with a blood family basis.
A drug that always had as its destination the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
If we take only the seized quantities as a basis, they are very small, compared to those that crossed the port's beam, where the group managed to traffic approximately 7.5 tons of cocaine between January and October 2020.
The cocaine, which left Peru and after passing through ports in South America, was hidden in various ways, arriving in Europe, where another group that dealt with the distribution infrastructure was waiting for it.
