A serious event was recorded in Aitoloakarnania, Greece, where the 51-year-old leader of the Lithovouni community, Kostas Alexandris, was killed.
According to Greek media, police investigations are revealing that everything happened for a personal, perhaps even erotic, motive.
According to information from protothema.gr, from the evidence and statements so far it seems that the perpetrator is suspected of having had personal disputes with the victim, which are probably related to a woman. At the same time, the police authorities seem cautious about the accusations of the suspect, who tries to justify his act by talking about fear and self-defense.
"He was pointing at me from inside the car and I got scared," said the perpetrator of the brutal murder of the 51-year-old in Aitoloakarnania.
The 45-year-old perpetrator claims that at the time of the incident, he saw the victim driving from inside his car, which made him scared and hit first. However, this particular version does not seem to convince the police investigating the case, who are currently examining all the facts of the case.
Also, the 45-year-old, who allegedly confessed to the murder of the 50-year-old, told police that it was a crime of passion, as there was a romantic rivalry between them. Specifically, the victim's wife had developed an extramarital affair with the perpetrator and had left her home, living in Patras, until she finally decided to "reconcile" with her husband and return to him.
How did the murder happen?
According to initial investigation data, the perpetrator is suspected of having ambushed the victim and, as the 51-year-old was driving by in his car, shot him three times. The shots caused the driver to lose control and the vehicle to end up in a ravine.
During the autopsy at the scene, police discovered that the victim, who was wearing dark clothing, was found face down in the passenger seat. A shotgun was found inside the vehicle, confirming that the 51-year-old was also armed. At the same time, shell casings were found in both the back and front of the car, an element that is being examined as part of the ballistics investigation.
A few hours after the crime, the perpetrator contacted authorities asking to surrender, reportedly saying characteristically: "Come and get me out of the house, I killed him." According to information, he also handed over the weapon he used.
He was then taken to the local Police Department, where he is being held, while investigations continue to fully clarify the circumstances and motives of the murder.
