The plenary session in the Albanian Parliament has begun. The first to speak was MP Redi Muçi, who demanded a reaction from Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Albanian government regarding the statement by Serbian Minister Snežana Paunović, who declared that she would ethnically cleanse Kosovo.
He stated that Rama deals with the protesters, but does not react to issues of national interest.
"What does the prime minister expect to react to the statement of the Serbian minister and the support given to this statement by Dacic, while Kosovo has declared the lady non grata. Ethnic cleansing has been declared a crime against humanity. Such chauvinistic statements violate the Constitution of Albania, which states that the rights of the Albanian people living abroad are protected. If Rama does not take a stand on this statement, what will he take a stand on?" he said.
Majority MPs have previously rejected the opposition's resolution recognizing the Serbian genocide in Kosovo.
"The one who discovered the foreign agencies at the protest and dealt with the protesters one by one, who attacked the well-known figures who joined the protest, who let Taulant attack even the few journalists who remained and who did not hesitate to deal with Dua Lipa, but does not take a position on the Serbian minister's statement, because perhaps together with his friend Vučić he has fallen into the same predicament: the youth despises them," said Mucci.
Meanwhile, the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, stated that the Albanian government has reacted, while harshening its language towards MP Mucci.
"Regarding the statement, the Albanian government's reaction has been timely from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These are issues that are not addressed with the sarcasm of political dilettantes, but are issues of national importance and we cannot make fun of them. A new cadet of Parliament wants to get attention. We are not sarcasm like yours, we do not make fun of national issues. As for Rama, you and your friends should shut up, because he is the only prime minister who has raised the Kosovo issue in the middle of Belgrade and has made it fully known in Brussels," said Balla.
