On the denigration of MPs by egg and tomato

After they voted to destroy Albania's ports by charging Albanian citizens a bill of over 2 billion euros, so that someone could make money;

After they postponed the law on strategic investments 7 times to plunder every piece of Albania;

Having blocked by vote and with their full conscience any request by the judiciary to lift the immunity of senior officials under investigation or indictment;

Because in 14 years they have not rejected any government initiative or bill that conflicts with the public interest; (even the Pope of Rome would have made a mistake in 14 years)

After being transformed into a robotic instrument programmed to perform only two tasks;

1-Raising the flag for every perverse and corrupt initiative of the government

2- Publicly defending the boss and attacking anyone who criticizes the big boss;

After 14 years they have legalized every robbery, big and small, of the government and its clients;

After, after, after….;

Today, they are raising great national concern that the attack with eggs, flour, and tomatoes is denigrating the image of the country's deputies and senior officials.

But who discredited the figure of the deputy and minister in Albania? The tomato and egg on the car windshield or the above? The late Vasillaq Vangjeli once said it very beautifully; does a rotten egg spoil?

This protest in 35 days has only had two ugly episodes that must be strongly condemned. The hitting of a police officer in the head with a stone in front of Parliament and the attack on the police station the day before.

Whether they were infiltrated people or a handful of protesters eager for violence among hundreds of thousands of model citizens, this is of little importance. What is important is the fact that every citizen and protester must distance themselves from and strongly condemn those two acts, while those who committed or organized them must answer before the law.

But flour and tomatoes are not the problem. Quite the opposite!

Albania had fallen into a tragic situation, where for a decade the government had governed without the slightest fear of losing power. This was due to the corruption of the system that enables rotation in free democracies and due to the weakness, sins, or even compromise of the opposition.

Imagine what an absolute power does, ruling for such a long time without the slightest fear of being overthrown. In fact, there is no need to imagine it at all, but it is enough to look at what they have actually done.

When it destroys democracy, when it destroys institutions, when it constantly puts the public interest at risk, then the opposition becomes an egg and a tomato.

So, if MPs and ministers don't want eggs, tomatoes, or facing angry citizens, they should think twice before they pick up the cardboard. That's it.
