"The president knows my decision, we discussed it a month ago." This is what Antonio Conte said after the match against Pisa, where he gave Napoli a ticket to the Champions League. That was enough for the media in Italy not to wait until the last week to reveal Conte's future, but they write with conviction that everything is over between him and Napoli. Conte was under contract until 2027, but apparently this time Conte is not breaking his rule either, he does not stay longer than 2 years at the head of a team.

Unlike Spalletti or other names, Conte will leave Napoli peacefully, in consensus with president De Laurentiis, with the latter having previously stated that he will not be an obstacle if Conte wants to leave. The divorce between Conte and Napoli will be made public after the match against Udinese, the last for this season in Serie A. With him on the bench, Napoli achieved 53 wins, 19 draws and 18 losses, giving them a Serie A title and the Super Cup trophy.

Conte's departure is not entirely unfounded as the Italian coach is clear that president De Laurentiis does not intend to invest much in the new season, but will try to reduce expenses as they are the third club in Serie A with 110 million euros in wages per season. Napoli will try to refresh the group as they have an average age of 28. Aware of these changes, Conte has made a final decision to leave Napoli after only 2 seasons.

Clear about Conte's decision, De Laurentiis has long started working to find his successor, with the long list including new names like Palladino, Grosso, and expert coaches like Sarri and Allegri.
