Activist Luçiana Kokaj has called the decision of Edi Rama's government to allocate 4 million euros for the concert of the famous rapper Kanye West shameful. In an interview for News24Kokaj stated that, while citizens face a lack of health services and the infrastructure in schools and hospitals, according to her, is in a scandalous state, the government chooses to use millions of euros from the reserve fund to organize a concert.
She emphasized that these funds should be used for the priority needs of citizens.
Kokaj also requested an investigation by SPAK.

"The state's investment in a private individual's concert is shameful. They come out and denounce Albanians who leave bad reviews while they themselves invest in a private business. Meanwhile, there are Albanians who do not receive medical assistance, who need treatment abroad, and the state does not provide them with treatment. The state has money to invest in Kanye West, but it does not have money to take Albanians for treatment when it itself does not offer them treatment. There are schools and hospitals in scandalous condition.
When state reserves are affected for a concert, it seems trivial to me, while when the earthquake happened, we didn't have enough in reserves, so we opened a GoFundme and asked for money all over Europe.
Meanwhile, we now have money in the reserve fund. I believe that the justice institutions will do their job.
"SPAK should act, look at the "Albanian Files", the permits that were granted and how the agreements were made. Talks were on the table long before the amendment of Law 21/24. That law was amended to favor friends of Rama that SPAK should investigate," she said.
