A possible peace deal between the United States and Iran is looking increasingly closer to being finalized, according to statements from several leaders and international media, as negotiations brokered by Pakistan have entered their final stages.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that an agreed text of the agreement has been reached and that the electronic signature could occur within the next 24 hours, signaling a significant diplomatic development in the Middle East.
On Friday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz dismissed talks of a ceasefire between Iran and the US, saying Israel would continue to act independently and would not withdraw from southern Lebanon, Syria or Gaza.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump said that a peace deal with Iran could be signed in Europe this weekend, while Tehran has also expressed optimism about reaching a possible compromise.
However, the situation on the ground remains tense. Reports indicate that despite diplomatic progress, military clashes and incidents continue in the region, including claims of drone downings and military activities in strategic maritime areas.
One of the main points of the negotiations remains the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the easing of economic sanctions on Iran, in exchange for commitments on the nuclear issue and reducing regional tensions.
