Tehran has presented a proposal to the United States that includes lifting sanctions, releasing frozen Iranian assets and lifting the naval blockade of the country, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi was quoted as saying.

According to him, the proposal also includes an end to hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, the withdrawal of US forces from areas near Iran, and compensation for the destruction caused by the war.

Despite the talks, significant differences remain between the two sides. In a recent speech before the Iranian parliament's National Security Committee, Gharibabadi stressed that Iran will not give up its right to enrich uranium. The issue is a key sticking point, as the US demands that the Iranians stop enriching uranium for the next two decades, which Tehran considers too long. Iran wants the US to guarantee an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, before discussing its nuclear program.

While the US refuses to commit in advance, arguing that this will be determined by the course of negotiations. Tehran also wants to end the blockade of its ports, which the US says it will lift only if Iran first opens the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, Iran insists on paying compensation for damages caused by the war, a demand that the US has rejected.

In addition, the withdrawal of US forces from the region, especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council states, is being demanded, as well as the lifting of all sanctions related to the nuclear program, human rights violations, and support for terrorism, which the US has not agreed to lift.
