A new round of talks between Israel and Lebanon, scheduled to take place next week in Rome, has been postponed until October. The decision comes as both sides continue discussions on implementing a framework agreement reached in June.

Meanwhile, a US official announced that the ambassadors of Israel and Lebanon will meet next week at the State Department in Washington.

According to the official, who asked to remain anonymous, the meeting will focus on "ongoing developments and further implementation" of the agreement reached in June.

The meeting in Washington is expected to serve as an intermediate step in efforts to continue dialogue between the two countries, while the full round of negotiations has been postponed to October.
