The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a wave of airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Sunday after two drones launched by Hezbollah targeted Israeli troops operating inside the security zone.

Before the attacks, IDF Arab spokeswoman Lt. Col. Ella Uaueya called on residents of the Arab town of Salim to immediately evacuate the area around a building identified as a target.

She warned residents to stay at least 300 meters away from the building, saying it was located near a facility belonging to Hezbollah and that the Israeli army would act against it.

According to Lebanese media, the building that was hit had served as a hospital and at least two people were reported to have died in the attacks. Meanwhile, the IDF stated that the facility had previously been a hospital, but at the time of the attack was being used as Hezbollah's headquarters in the city.

During the drone attack, Israeli soldiers opened fire and shot down one of them.
