The Israel Defense Forces struck a military facility of the radical Hezbollah group in southern Lebanon and a vehicle that was leaving its territory.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the army press service.
“The army recorded two vehicles leaving a military facility used by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The militants in the vehicles crossed the first line of defense and approached the positions of the troops, which posed a direct threat to their safety. After confirming that these individuals violated the ceasefire and posed a direct threat, the Israeli Air Force struck one of the vehicles, as well as the facility from which these individuals left,” the statement said.
The military also reported that two journalists were injured in the attacks.
"The Israel Defense Forces do not target members of the media and, while ensuring the protection of their servicemen, take all necessary steps to minimize the harm caused to them," the army press service noted.
Recall that on February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran and carried out airstrikes on a number of cities. As a result of the attacks carried out that day, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed. In response, Iran launched missile attacks on Israeli territory and attacked American military bases in the Persian Gulf countries.
After Hezbollah joined the war on Iran's side, firing rockets and drones into Israel, the Israel Defense Forces launched attacks in southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, where the radical group's infrastructure is located. Israel has also expanded its ground operation in southern Lebanon.
Iran, the United States and their allies agreed to a two-week ceasefire on the night of April 8.
On April 14, the first phase of US-sponsored Lebanese-Israeli contacts took place in Washington, D.C., to set a date for the start of peace talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement. The delegations were led by the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors to the United States.
On April 16, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to implement a 10-day ceasefire.
