Activist Napolon Laska, invited to News24 weekend, commented on the wave of protests that has swept Tirana in recent days. During his speech, Laska said that these rallies are a positive sign, describing them as a "day of celebration" for the fact that citizens are becoming aware and are reacting outside the framework of political parties.

"The protest is a day of celebration for Albanians because they are learning to react beyond political parties," said the activist, praising the civic awakening.

Laska stated that the people's revolt stems from the accumulation of dissatisfaction over three decades of transition, which has brought Albanians to the end of their patience.

"This is no longer a protest of the curly pelican, it is of the curly nerves that have been inflicted on Albanians in these 30 years by the misgovernance, inequality and lack of competition that has ruled Albania in these years," he said.

Laska further issued strong accusations against the current political and economic structure in the country, pointing to the degradation of institutions and the loss of values, where, according to him, crime and illiteracy have taken the leading places.

"Today we have criminals, drug traffickers who are considered businessmen, we have functional illiterates who are in Parliament. That's why people have taken to the streets, we have families separated by emigration, they can't afford to live," concluded Laska.
