Italy will say no to US President Donald Trump's invitation to participate in the Peace Board.

The reason for this, according to Corriere della Serra, is Article 11 of the Constitution, which allows Italy to participate in international organizations dealing with peace, but only "on equal terms with other states."

This, according to the Italian media, contradicts what the Peace Board represents.

Meloni is expected to attend the Davos meeting, however Corriere reports that she is increasingly aware that she cannot sign on behalf of Italy for admission to the board, beyond the membership fee required to join.

"There is another factor, which was taken into consideration late yesterday morning by the Prime Minister during a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers Matteo Salvini and Antonio Tajani, and Minister Guido Crosetto. The ratification of international treaties would have to be approved by Parliament through an ordinary law, and there is no time available for this," the Italian media article states, among other things.
