A 35-year-old man has been arrested after being caught transporting contraband goods. The young man was detained at the Port of Durres during increased checks.
According to the police, jewelry, cosmetic products, clothing, food products, medical medications, vehicle lubricants, etc., suspected of being smuggled, were found in the vehicle, as they were not accompanied by the necessary evidentiary documents.
The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.

As a result of the intensification of controls, another attempt to smuggle goods into Albania is foiled.
A citizen who was transporting a variety of smuggled goods in a van is arrested.
The goods and the vehicle are seized.
Following the controls at the entrance and exit of the Republic of Albania, carried out by the Border Police services of the Port BCP, Durrës, based on police information, risk analysis and previous precedents, at the entrance, the van driven by citizen EB was moved to the second line for a detailed check.
During the search of this vehicle, jewelry, cosmetic products, clothing, food products, medical medications, vehicle lubricants, etc. were found, suspected of being smuggled, as they were not accompanied by the necessary evidentiary documents.
At the end of the procedural actions, citizen EB, 35 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto, and the van and goods were seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.
