Journalist Osman Stafa has published an official document of the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center (MUTC), where the institution calls on citizens and donors to contribute to the purchase of medical equipment, arguing that they are necessary to improve service to patients.

In the official document, QSUT requests dozens of vital equipment as donations, including 15 respirators, 6 defibrillators, a brachytherapy device, intensive care monitors, surgical microscopes, anesthesia machines, endoscopy towers, infusion pumps, EUS, ECG, EEG and many other devices, with a total value estimated at around 3.4 million euros.

The publication of this document comes at a time when the Albanian government decided to finance the concert of American artist Kanye West with 4 million euros (about 4 billion old lek).

According to journalist Osman Stafa, the document raises strong questions about public funding priorities.

"If the largest university hospital in the country is forced to ask citizens for donations for basic and vital equipment for treating patients, while the state finds 4 million euros to finance a private concert, then the debate is no longer just about funds, but about how priorities were chosen. It is the greatest absurdity. The university hospital does not have medical equipment and asks citizens for money to buy it, while the state uses the money for a spectacle."

The published document shows that the needs of the QSUT are not limited to information technology equipment, but include equipment used every day in operating rooms, intensive care, oncology, cardiology, neurology and emergency services.
