Israel says Hezbollah leader's right-hand man killed in attack
The Israeli military has announced that it has eliminated the secretary of the leader of the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah.
The Israel Defense Forces said Ali Yusuf Harshi, the nephew of Naim Qassem, was killed in an overnight airstrike in Beirut.
"Harshi was a close associate and personal advisor to Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem and played a central role in managing and securing his office," the IDF said.
Also overnight, the IDF struck two key crossings used by terrorists and Hezbollah commanders to move from north to south across the Litani River in Lebanon to transfer thousands of weapons, rockets and launchers.
About 10 weapons depots and command centers were also hit in southern Lebanon, the IDF added.
