Independent MP Marjana Koçeku, who left the Socialist Party and joined the protest, has reacted to the situation of the fires that have engulfed the country from north to south.

Koçek mentions some of the areas affected by the flames, while emphasizing that, regardless of whether the fires are intentional or accidental, the damage to nature and national parks remains great.

According to her, a serious state should consider fire protection as a security issue, requiring planning, tools, and preparation throughout the year, and not intervention only when fires have engulfed forest areas.

"A solid state would no longer consider fire protection as a matter of improvisation, but as a matter of security, which requires planning, tools, preparation and awareness throughout the year," says Koçek.

The MP also criticizes the government's priorities, referring to the "Mountain Package", while arguing that the protection of natural wealth should be the center of attention.

"With these kinds of priorities and these kinds of packages, not only will the mountains burn, but democracy itself, and the richest asset of this country: our nature," concludes Koçek.
