KOSOVO - Albin Kurti has said that he welcomes anyone with political ambitions and a vision for the citizens, but stressed that wishes should not be confused with facts, when asked about the possible bid of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) for the June 7 elections, with leader Lumir Abdixhiku as the candidate for prime minister and Vjosa Osmani as the candidate for president.
During the opening of works for the Kijevë - Malishevë road, Kurti said that we should not forget what the people decided four months ago.
And on the issue of the positions of prime minister and president, he said that this is decided by the people and not by any party leader or contender for any position, alluding to Osmani.
"All those who have political ambitions, want power, have ideas and visions for the good of the citizens, let them get involved, let them work with what they know and can, I wish them success. But you have to keep in mind, no party leader, no contender for any position decides this, the people decide this. And don't forget how the people decided four months ago. 51.1% gave it to LVV. Just look at the concrete result. LVV has 57 deputies, while PDK-LDK-AAK together have 43. People have desires, but we should not confuse desires with facts," he said.
Kurti was also asked about the decision of the Special Court to extend the deadline for announcing the verdict for the KLA four until July 20. According to him, Kosovo needs a normal court. However, he stressed that lessons must be learned from the political mistakes that led to its formation.
