The European Union's envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, met with President Vjosa Osmani.
He initially arrived at the Kosovo government building, where he was welcomed by acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Sorensen is also expected to meet with opposition leaders in the country.
His visit comes immediately after the elections in Kosovo and after the European Union member states have agreed to extend the mandate of Danish diplomat Peter Sorensen in this post for at least two more years.
