The Slovenian Federation has announced that it has removed coach Matjaz Kek, who led the national team for 7 years, from the bench.
"The contract of the coach of the Slovenian national team, Matjaa Kek, expired on November 30. The President of the Football Association of Slovenia and coach Matjaa Kek met and after a conversation they came to the conclusion that after seven years of very good and fair cooperation, which brought extraordinary success with a place in the European Championship and the round of 16, the cooperation is being terminated," the Football Association of Slovenia said in a statement.
We recall that they were defeated by Kosovo in the World Cup Qualifiers and failed to secure a ticket to the Play Offs.
