The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment in the case of the murder and massacre of the Jashari family.
"Today we have submitted an indictment related to the killing of civilians in the Jasharajve neighborhood in Prekaz. The indictment is based on evidence," stated Chief Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj.
"As a result of the investigations, based on material and personal evidence, we have managed to identify 35 defendants in this case, who have held high command positions in the structures of the special units of the Serbian forces," the Special Prosecution announced.
The indictment was filed 28 years after the events of March 1998, when Serbian forces attacked the Jashari family in Prekaz, Skenderaj.
The attack, carried out on March 5, 6 and 7, 1998, left 55 people dead, including 22 members of the immediate family of legendary KLA commander Adem Jashari.
