The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reacted to the conviction of four former KLA leaders for war crimes by the Special Court in The Hague.

On the official account on X, the Croatian MFA emphasized that it does not want to prejudge the epilogue of the decision that was made in the first instance.

"This decision does not change the historical context of the war in Kosovo or the fact that Kosovo and its population were victims of repression and serious crimes by the Milosevic regime," the reaction states.

The Croatian MFA added that the individual responsibility of a person "cannot serve as a basis for relativizing those crimes or for questioning the freedom and independence of Kosovo."
