Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the United States is "hurrying" to end the war in Ukraine, but warned that reaching a solution remains a long and complex process.

In an interview with Russian state television, quoted by the Interfax agency, Peskov stressed that negotiations to end the conflict take time due to the "complicated details" that need to be discussed between the parties.

The statement comes a day after US President Donald Trump announced a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, from May 9 to 11, expressing hope that the agreement could “mark the beginning of the end” of the war. According to Peskov, there have been no discussions so far about extending the ceasefire beyond May 11, despite Trump’s request for a longer period of calm. Moscow and Kiev remain far from a final agreement, while international diplomatic efforts to stop the conflict have yet to yield concrete progress.
