The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, who is also the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, said before the start of the constitutive session of the Parliament, that the political agreement reached earlier (with the LDK) should also provide the necessary votes for the election of the president.

He said that the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the new Government would not avoid new elections if the country's president is not elected.

"The constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the Government does not avoid new elections, if we do not also elect the President. And to elect the President, we need to have two-thirds, so that the quorum is present in the Assembly, the Assembly is already constituted when the legislature is in its tenth year, but the political agreement seems not to have been sufficient, therefore we find it necessary to have all the MPs of the agreement there, for our joint candidate, Professor Bekim Sejdiu, or to have additional MPs. So, this is very important, but since we have a political agreement and the chairman of the session, the oldest MP Avni Dehari, has called the constitutive session, we respond positively to it", said Kurti. /KosovaPress/
