A serious incident has been recorded in the Koutaranto area, in the Lasithi region of Greece, where a conflict between cattle farmers ended in bloodshed. According to local media, a 36-year-old man was seriously injured after a knife fight, which is suspected to have started due to a dispute over land and pastures.
The incident involved two brothers, aged 27 and 34, and a 68-year-old woman. The argument between the parties quickly escalated after the 36-year-old's cattle allegedly entered the brothers' land.
It is reported that initially there was a verbal clash, where the older woman insulted the 36-year-old, and then the situation got out of control. The two brothers attacked him with sharp tools, hitting him several times in the stomach and arm. The injured man was urgently transported to the Agios Nikolaos hospital, where he received medical assistance and is out of danger for his life, although he will stay for further treatment.
Police authorities have arrested the two brothers, who are being held at the local police station, while investigations to fully clarify the circumstances continue.
