Russia no longer has confidence in the West's willingness to reach a negotiated solution to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference.
“The West continues to hypocritically call for a negotiated solution. Negotiated solutions were reached in 2014, 2015 and 2019,” the Russian minister said. “In all these cases, the West’s guarantees were dismantled by the West itself. They all turned out to be total lies.”
"In addition, in 2022 there was a negotiated solution between Russia and Ukraine, but the West openly and publicly undermined it. We no longer trust the West's declared readiness to find a negotiated solution, this reserve of trust and hope has completely dried up," Lavrov added.
