Believe it or not, PSG lost their first trophy of the season in France, losing the Super Cup, after a defeat against Lens in the final. This unexpected defeat comes exactly 4 days after they won another trophy, the European Super Cup. Luis Enrique had rested several important players, players like Dembele, Neves, captain Marquinhos, while Barcola had not even gathered, details that cost them a lot, with Lens surprising them in one of the few attacks, where Thauvin punished them in the 32nd minute. The party did not last long in the ranks of Lens as 7 minutes later they were left with 10 players.

At the start of the second half, Luis Enrique intervened in the formation by making 3 immediate substitutions, among them he threw Dembele, Nuno Mendez and Fabian Ruiz onto the field, completely moving Lens to the midfield. In the second half alone they attempted the goal 15 times, hitting the target 4 times, while Dembele and the rest of the team wasted endless chances.

In the 87th minute, PSG was reduced to 10 men after Nuno Mendez was sent off, while the score remained unchanged until the end, with Lens celebrating this important success, for the first time in history and moreover in their home ground.
