Laert Haxhiu, sentenced to life imprisonment, has been caught again with a mobile phone inside the Drenova prison premises.

The news has been confirmed for BalkanWeb by journalist Klodiana Lala, who reports that her phone was found during checks conducted by authorities at the prison.

This is not the first case that a convicted person for serious criminal cases has been caught with illegal means in prison premises, and the incident is expected to be followed by verifications and other measures by the responsible institutions.

Laert Haxhia has been sentenced to life imprisonment for several criminal events, including the murder of Zamir Latif and Jurgen Çela in Lushnja, as well as other serious criminal charges.
