Ilaria Sula's parents have recounted in "With an Open Heart" by moderator and author Evis Ahmeti the difficult period they are going through and the despair that has filled their souls after their daughter's murder.

"There is no life in my family anymore. My son Leo tells me: Dad, please look up from the tiles for once, don't keep your head down. He doesn't talk to anyone, he doesn't vent his despair," the father said.

He added that the most beautiful memory in his life is when he held his daughter, who had the same birth date as him, in his arms for the first time.

"I became a parent for the first time with Ilaria on my birthday, I don't think there is a more beautiful gift. Ilaria and I were born on May 20. I don't think there is a more beautiful gift. For someone to come and take your daughter in that way is unforgivable. I don't forgive this. Ilaria had dreams, she was trying to graduate, it was a very difficult field. My house, in every corner I see, talks about Ilaria. She is in every place in the house and we, four members were in the family. Last year Ilaria said she wanted to come to Albania. Someone comes and kidnaps the girl as if she had his property. This is unforgivable. I don't forgive", he said.

They also had an appeal to Albanian youth and commentators on social networks:

A piece of advice to Albanian youth. Maybe I'm wrong to say this word, but respect each other because respect is something very important, whether for a boy or a girl. Respect the people around you. Ilaria did it, but was not appreciated by the one around her. Ilaria said no, a no that she paid dearly for.

Commentators on social media, look at your house, not mine. I take care of my house myself. My appeal is that I am proud of my daughter. The misfortune that befell her was the misfortune of my daughter who ended her life so quickly, but there are many like Ilaria who have had the same thing happen to them.
